Autumn 🍂 Autumn is officially here and it's m Autumn 🍂

Autumn is officially here and it's my favourite season of them all.

It is a time for harvest, giving thanks and a time to nurture our body and mind for the winter months ahead.

Ideas to nurture your well-being may include:

Ensuring you are getting the correct amount of Vitamin D from spending time outdoors in nature to support your bone and teeth health, as well as taking a supplement. In the UK the NHS website states "government advice is that everyone should consider taking a daily Vitamin D supplement during the autumn and winter." This is because we simply don't get enough sunshine during these months to produce the correct amounts.

Make sure you are looking after your immune system by getting the correct levels of Vitamin C, keep your stress levels as low as possible and get plenty of good quality rest.

Use the daytime hours to surround yourself where possible with natures amazing autumnal colours, turn off your phone and breathe. This is such a lovely way to boost your mood.

During the evening use the cosy, darker nights to nurture yourself, to hibernate a little and to rest. Why not light a candle, dig out your favourite cosy blanket and indulge in a new book.

Enjoy taking time to look after you and your loved ones and enjoy the beauty this season has to offer.

I would love to read your book recommendations 🙏🏻👇🏻 📕 ready for my cosy nights. Thank you.

Meet Your Reflexologist If you saw my post yeste Meet Your Reflexologist

If you saw my post yesterday you will have read it is World Reflexology Week, where our profession celebrates this wonderful therapy.

When a new client visits me for a treatment they are often curious about why I became a reflexologist. It is a valid question, as until recently it wasn't a career that many people had heard about.

Reflexology came to me in 2006 following the death of my youngest brother. At that time I had not experienced reflexology before and knew very little about how it worked.

It was a few months since my brother had passed away and I still suffered with poor quality sleep whilst learning how to deal with the emotions I felt. A close friend suggested I give reflexology a try, I was so tired – ‘I will give anything a go’ I thought to myself.

I made a booking, but really did not know what to expect. I remember feeling nervous going to my first appointment, but was soon put at ease. I felt immediately safe, relaxed and secure. The chair felt as though it was giving me a huge hug!

As the treatment began, I remember closing my eyes, it felt wonderful. I could feel tension in my body slipping away. I did feel emotional, but it was a great release and I felt so peaceful when I was driving home after the appointment.

That night, I went to bed feeling calm and relaxed and seven hours later woke. Wow, I’d had my first full night’s rest for months. I couldn’t believe it.

Since that day, reflexology has never left my life. It supported me tremendously during the challenging journey of grief. A journey which brought many twists and turns, but reflexology allowed me the space and time to heal and to know what I was feeling was completely normal.

It then gave me a new focus, and I trained as a practitioner so I could go on and help and support other people. I wanted to help people just how I had been helped.

I dedicated my qualification to my brother John; I knew he would have been proud of what I had achieved, and he was my driving force to go on and start my business.

So, this is me, your reflexologist.

Thank you to everyone who has chosen to work with me and to future clients who I may meet in the future.

What is reflexology? As tomorrow marks the start What is reflexology?

As tomorrow marks the start of World Reflexology Week, and I have had lots of lovely new people follow my page recently, I thought it may be helpful to share more about what reflexology actually is.

Unfortunately, there are lots of myths online about reflexology and I hope my graphics will help to explain more about the treatment.

Please stop comparing yourself to others 🤍 Wit Please stop comparing yourself to others 🤍

With social media it is very easy to compare your own well-being journey to other people you follow, and this can make you feel that your efforts are not enough. I know many of my female reflexology clients who are currently working through the peri-menopause and menopause are certainly feeling like this, as they try to navigate the information that is out there whilst working out what is right for them, alongside seeing images and video of celebrities/influencers who appear to have it all sorted!

If you are making changes to your well-being, please remember everyone is on their own journey and what works for one person may not work for another.

Try to focus on your own goals, your own achievements and do not worry about what other people are doing.

Of course, there will be times that you feel frustrated and feel like you are not making any progress (I know I have been there lately with my own weight loss journey), but that is okay.

Here are some tips to help you stop the comparison game:

🤍 Focus on your own goals and celebrate your achievements, no matter how big or small.

🤍 Be kind to yourself (you are doing your best).

🤍 Remember everyone is different and what works for them may not work for you.

🤍 Not everything you see on social media is real, or it is just the highlights of someone’s day.

🤍 Take breaks from social media if it makes you worry or feel like your progress is not enough.

🤍 Build a supportive network around you - this can be your friends and family who will be your cheerleaders.

🤍 Take a deep breath and focus on what you want to achieve, so you can be the best you can be.

Good luck,
Kelly x
