Summer Solstice Today is the longest day of the y Summer Solstice Today is the longest day of the year here in the Northern hemisphere, and it marks the arrival of midsummer. A time of warmth, longer days and witnessing natures magnificent display. It can be a time to slow down as we may enjoy summer holidays away or at home, picnics with friends, or simply spend time in the garden after work enjoying the evening sun. This time encourages us to recharge before the busy autumn begins and we head towards the final part of the year. It is also a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge what has passed and also what you would like for the months ahead. What changes would you like to make to support your well-being? Do you have any personal goals you would like to achieve? For me this day is also one of reflection too, as it is my late brother's birthday, so this evening I will enjoy some time in the garden reminiscing about the amazing memories we shared with him. International Men's Health Week This week is Int International Men's Health Week This week is International Men’s Health Week and it’s a great reminder to look after the men in our lives and encourage them to take care of both their physical and mental well-being. As we continue to navigate these challenging times and learn to live with Covid-19 many people are still experiencing high stress levels and anxiety which can result in low mood, difficulty sleeping and a range of other physical symptoms such as tension headaches. If you are currently experiencing high stress levels or a friend or family member is, treatments such as reflexology provide a wonderful opportunity to unwind, destress and promote an improved sense of well-being. Sometimes there is a misconception that reflexology is just for women, but this is not the case. Since opening my reflexology business in 2008, I have provided many reflexology treatments to male clients and they have reported how much it has supported their well-being, particularly during periods of high stress caused by work, relationship challenges or following a bereavement. In fact some of my original reflexology clients who have visited my treatment room since 2008 are men, and I feel proud to be able to support their well-being. Carers Week 2022 Within my treatment room I often Carers Week 2022 Within my treatment room I often work with clients who are unpaid carers, who look after a family member or friend who has a disability, mental or physical illness, addiction or needs extra help as they grow older. Their role can be very demanding, lonely and can impact every area of their life, often leaving them exhausted with little time for their own well-being. When I work with a carer I see almost immediately the positive impact my treatment can make to how they feel. They have space to talk and be heard, and space to unwind with no distractions. I see the tension in their face disappear and they look brighter, feeling recharged ready to support their loved one again. How powerful this time is for them. If you know someone who is a carer how could you help to make a difference to them? You could send a text to say hi or even pick up the phone to see if you could help them in some way. These little actions can make such a positive difference to their day. Kelly x

Thank you to everyone who has visited the treatment room during May and for booking reflexology appointments in June and July, it has been wonderful to welcome new and familiar faces to the treatment room. The treatment room is now closed until Monday 6th June for half-term and to celebrate the Jubilee with the family.
